About Dee Dee:Devonte Keenan Smith (Born January 22, 2001), better known by his stage names Baby Bandit , 7BE DeeDee or DeeDee is a Hip-Hop artist, songwriter, and football player. The son of Aruba Bandit and the grandson of Aruba’s Hip Hop pioneer Mercedes “Bambi” Smith.
His musical career began in 2010, as a member of “5th Quarter" which consisted of his father and family. Influenced and inspired by his Father's rap group “5th Quarter” he was determined to make a hip hop impact in the Worlds musical culture. |
In 2012, he relocated to Aruba. He quickly overcame the challenge of learning the languages spoken of his native island; Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish. His passion for music and basketball grew as he resided in Aruba from 2012 to 2016. Upon his return to New York with his skill of speaking 4 languages Dee Dee further worked on his craft as a music writer and entertain. He attended Jefferson High School and joined the football where he became a high school star player. Upon graduating from High School in 2020 Dee Dee shifted his focus to studio recording and live performances in pursuit of his musical dreams.
Influenced by Aruba Bandit, Prince Toine, Sosa Gz, 22gz, Sleepy Hallow & Sheff G, DeeDee continues to express his thoughts and feelings through music while sketching his own legacy in the culture of Hip-Hop. He has continuously worked with influential artist as features as well as collaborators such as Sosa Gz, Prince Toine, Ricoo gz, Melo Zoe, Aruba Bandit, Jay Money, Tana, and many more. |
DeeDee is currently working on his yet untitled debut solo album. Dee Dee released a single on called "My Way" and a freestyle video for “Homecoming” via YouTube . DeeDee can be heard on collaborative tracks with Sosa Gz like "still tippin remix” and "Just The Start".
Although music is the key to DeeDee engine, he is highly committed to the success and happiness of his family and friends. DeeDee grew up being highly energetic which made him the perfect athlete. He played Football and Basketball since he was 6 going on 7 which led him to stay focused in school where he had seen his second dream. After seeing his second dream as a NFL Player, he wanted to be the first NFL rapper to constantly put out smashing hit records, and is still currently on the mission. |
